William "Bill" Ralph Glendening

Bill Glendening, age 80, of Montrose, Colorado, passed away on August 12, 2026 after a battle with many illnesses. He was surrounded by loved ones as he left this world. Bill was born September 4, 1945, in Montrose to Ralph and Edna Glendening. Bill graduated from high school in Montrose in 1964, Married Janie Walker Glendening August 21, 1966, enlisted in the Army shortly after, and continued to earn a BA from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado in 1973. After Janie passed from cancer, he married Mary Spock Glendening. Bill worked for many different places. Federal Land Bank, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Production Credit Association, the Montrose Potato Growers, and finished his work career with Lambert and Associates in Montrose. Besides work, Bill had a great passion for horses from a young age and enjoyed quarter horse racing with his family. Bill never met a stranger and could visit and listen with anyone, about anything.

After a bout with multiple illnesses, Bill died peacefully surrounded by those he loved. He is survived by his wife Mary of Montrose, his daughters Kim (Calvin) Murray of Roosevelt, Utah, and Kristi (Richard) Auguston of Montrose, his grandchildren Kaci (Logan) Wisener of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jordan (Weston) Walker of Roosevelt, Utah, Jon Auguston, and Toni Auguston of Montrose. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Edna Glendening; his sister, Patsy Glendening; his half-brother, Charles Glendening; his first wife, Janie Glendening; and his stepson, Brandon Rossiter. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
