WARDETH LOUISE LEGER (MCCALLON)

Wardeth Louise Leger, age 86, passed away January, 13 2024, surrounded by her family.   She was born June 20, 1937 to Lauice Cleon and Beulah Myrle McCallon in Roscoe Texas.

Louise, as she preferred to be called, grew up in the Texas panhandle graduating from Lubbock High in 1956. She married her husband of 62 years, Delmar Leger on May 16, 1959.  A few years later they relocated to Ft Collins and in 1971 moved to Montrose.   Louise was a homemaker but also helped Del with his real estate office, Real Estate Exchange.   She was a member of the Christian Church of God in Grand Junction.

Louise loved being surrounded by her very boisterous family – Her daughter Tracy, Son in Law Kirk Baldwin, Grandchildren Jason, Jeffrey and Jessica, bonus Grandchildren Charesse Kibler, Destiny Shetter, Dorian Nicholas and Katelynn Smith, Great Grand Children Ty, Lane, Mason and Amelia (all of Montrose) and Nephews Dan Jones (Grand Junction) and Mark and Skitter Jones (Nucla).    She is survived by one brother, James (Maryann) McCallon of Albuquerque.

Her other interests were watching football (especially the Dallas Cowboys) dancing, reading, doing crossword puzzles and caring for her dog.  She said every home should have a dog and it should be treated like part of the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Cleon McCallon of Lubbock Texas
