Sueann Johnson, 62, of Montrose, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025.
Sueann was born on May 16, 1963, in Montrose, Colorado, to David and Evelyn (Herman) Pace. She grew up in Montrose and spent a short time living in Texas, but Montrose was her home.
Sueann is survived by her daughters, Ashley Osborne, Jessica Johnson, and Makenna (Gerson) Cruz; and her beloved grandchildren, McKenzie Ann and Miles Osborne, Ryleigh Paige Bowen, and Ainsley Rae Cruz. She is also survived by her siblings, Joseph (Tammy) Bosgal, Roseann Bosgal, Elaine (Jim) Rooks, Bryan (Cynthia) Pace, Davine (Steve) Bruno, Mike (Christine) Pace, and Jack (Kristi) Pace, along with numerous nieces, nephews who loved her dearly.
Sueann was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Raymond Hadley, her sister Mary Beth Pace, and her nephew Zachary Steven Pace.
Sueann — affectionately known as “Sue” — was an avid reader who could often be found lost in a good book, and she never missed an episode of her favorite Lifetime movies or Law & Order: SVU. Her quiet strength, fierce independence, and selfless nature defined her. She rarely asked for anything and never complained, always putting others ahead of herself.
In her later years, Sue's resemblance to her mother Evelyn became more apparent — not only in appearance but in spirit, resilience, and perseverance.
Her strength, wit, and stubbornness will be remembered and missed every day.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Sueann’s memory to your local library or women's shelter.
