Obituary

Sharon Marie Love Good's spirit departed from her body on July 15, 2026, after a recurrence of cancer. Though she is gone to be with her Lord, her positive light will continue to shine through our world.

Sharon Marie Love was born on February 15, 1947, to Samuel Eckert Love and Vesta Marie (Wagner) Love in Axial Basin, Colorado. Her mother died when she was a baby. Sharon attended a one-room country school in Axial Basin. When it was time to move to the town school, her teacher, Eleanor Service, and her husband, Jim, became foster parents to Sharon and her brother, Sam. Sharon attended grades 7–12 in Meeker, Colorado, graduating in 1965.

Sharon attended Bob Jones University in South Carolina to study music. She was there for one year before transferring to Greeley, where she worked on a business degree.

Sharon married Stewart Good on May 5, 1979, and soon after moved to Montrose, Colorado. Together they owned and ran Mountain Valley Book Sellers. In 1980, their son, Charles Samual, was born and died on the same day.

Sharon and Stewart battled cancer together for much of their marriage. Stewart died of lymphoma in 1993. Sharon went into remission for many years.

Growing up in the small town of Meeker, Sharon was acquainted with Roger Almgren. They reconnected in 2002 in Montrose and spent many wonderful years together. They were members of the Saddle Club and later the 4 Wheeler's Club and the Elks Lodge. Sharon and Roger loved spending time at their farm with their horses, cats, and dogs. They hosted many memorable gatherings of family and friends for barbecues, picnics, and holidays.

Sharon was a lifelong lover of music, especially the piano. She taught keyboarding in the Delta School District for a few years and had many piano and voice students throughout her life. Sharon shared her musical gifts by playing piano at assorted events and venues, including Montrose Christian Church. She enjoyed serving as a 4-H judge at many fairs, combining her joy in mentoring young people with her love of sewing.

Sharon cherished her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She always wanted to know what was happening in their lives and loved to visit and be part of major milestones and small moments. Later in life, she loved to see pictures on her phone and send texts with lots of emojis!

Sharon had many friends and never met a stranger. She was always ready for a chat, lunch, or a glass of wine on a backyard patio. Her strong, positive spirit lives on in the many family and friends she leaves behind.

Sharon is survived by her love, Roger Almgren; brother Sam (Ginny) Love of Meeker; sister Lois Roe of Mesquite, Nevada; brother Pat of Grants Pass, Oregon; sister Jane Bennight of Cloverdale, California; and assorted nieces and nephews. She loved Roger's children as her own, as well as their children, whom she considered her grandchildren. To those grandchildren, she was their beloved Granny.

Services will be held at Montrose Christian Church (dress church casual). Burial will be at Cedar Creek Cemetery immediately following service.
