Robert (Bob) Anthony Dumit

October 7, 1967 — January 23, 2023

Robert Anthony ‘Bob’ Dumit passed away suddenly on Monday, January 23, 2023, at his home in Montrose, Colorado.

He leaves his wife, Lori Wright, and his son, James Dumit, both of Montrose. He is also survived by his parents Barb and Tom Dumit of Oak Harbor, WA; brother Joe (Sylvia) Dumit of Davis, CA; sisters Deb (Tom) Mech, Marina (R.J.) Kasicki, Angela (Dave) Hacke, all of Park Ridge, IL. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Andrew (Laurel), Haley, Owen, Ethan, Charlie, Wilson and Stella; and stepdaughters Kendall (Mike) and Kasey Landis.

Born on October 7, 1967 in Chicago IL, Bobby D. was the heart of a tightly knit family. To know him was to love him. He was one-of-kind, and larger than life. He loved with his whole heart and brought smiles and laughter to so many lives. He was an amazing father, brother, son, and partner. He lived life to the fullest: shredding the slopes and fishing with James, hiking with Lori and her girls, traveling with his entire family, and teaching preschool. When he was younger, he enjoyed living in a teepee, sailing around Costa Rica, jumping from the highest cliffs, and befriending everyone he met.

In February 2019, Bob became engaged to his long-time friend, Lori Wright. Lori joined Bob and James in Montrose in 2020, where they blended their family of two daughters, a son, two dogs, and three cats. Bob loved living in Montrose, where he formed strong relationships with his family, friends, co-workers, and preschool students. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him.

A reception to celebrate Bob’s life will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday January 27, 2023 at Crippin Funeral Home in Montrose. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Sharing Ministries Food Bank
