Ricky Ray Sandoval Sr age 61 took the stairway to heaven on January 29, 2026. He was surrounded by all his loved ones. He finally gained his wings after a long battle with health issues. He was born on March 4,1964 in Cortez, Co to Edward & Rosalie (Gallegos) Sandoval. Rick spent his early life in Montrose, Co with his parents and four siblings.
At the age of 20 he married his first wife Michelle (Wold) DeJulio which followed with the birth of his first son.
In 1990 Rick met his wife Joannie (Montano) Sandoval whom he shared his life with. He took on the responsibility of raising 5 kids. In 1991 Rick and Joannie welcome their only child together, which was his second son.
Rick enjoyed so many things in life. As a kid he enjoyed wrestling, as an adult he played softball down at River Botton and Holly Park, he loved his music, going to concerts, and singing “he had one hell of a voice”. Many of his hobbies included fishing, camping, hunting, cooking on the grill and just being outdoors. His most favorite thing to do was gamble, whether it was playing poker with his buddies, going to the casinos with his Wife, or simply at home having family game night with family. During football season you would not find him anywhere besides in front of the tv cheering on the Denver Broncos.
Rick found the most joy in life spending time with his family and friends. When he wasn’t busy working and providing for his family, he always enjoyed his time with his grandkids. Even in the toughest of times, Rick made sure every moment and holiday was one to remember. Family was everything to him.
