Obituary

In Loving Memory of Richard Gomez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Gomez, age 79, of Delta, Colorado, who passed away on October 7, 2026.

Richard was born November 06th, 1946 in Delta, Colorado. He was a familiar and friendly face in the community. Richard was known as someone people could count on, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others made him a valued friend and neighbor.

Richard was a quiet man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved watching a good Denver Broncos game and taking long rides in his car. He appreciated the freedom of the open road and the familiar places and people that made Delta home. Though he was a man of few words, his willingness to help others spoke volumes about the kind of person he was.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Gomez; his mother, Andrea Valdez; his brothers, Alex Gomez and Joe Gomez; his sisters, Elisa Gomez, Margarita Gomez, and Hope Gomez; and an infant brother, Jesse James Gomez.

He is survived by sister Josie Diaz (Phoenix, AZ) and brother Daniel Gomez (Delta, CO).
