Obituary

Richard Hugh Biggs — August 5, 1943, to August 22, 2026

Richard Hugh Biggs, of Montrose, Colorado, passed away on August 22, 2026. He was born on August 5, 1943, in Standardville, Utah, to Robert Hugh and Marjorie Biggs.

Richard was a gentle, kindhearted man whose life was marked by quiet devotion and steadfast love. He cared for Teresa with tenderness and loyalty throughout her illness. Their bond was deep and enduring, and after her passing, he followed her soon after — a reflection of the profound love they shared and the place she held in his heart.

He found joy in life’s simple gifts. Richard loved driving the back roads, taking in nature’s beauty, and sharing stories filled with warmth, humor, and a spark that drew people close. He had a way of putting others at ease, and his stories often left smiles, laughter, and lasting memories behind.

Richard graduated from Bliss High School in Bliss, Idaho, where he was an honor student. He proudly served in the National Guard for three years.

Those who knew Richard will remember his quiet kindness, his steady presence, and the generous spirit he carried through each day. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Richard is survived by his son, Rodney Hugh (Joan Lewis) Biggs of Colver, Pennsylvania; and his stepchildren Manual (Dorothy) Lemos, Margaret (Paul) Espinoza of Montrose, Colorado, Richard Lemos, Victoria Parra of Worland, Wyoming, and Raul (Tracy) Lemos of Taylorsville, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teresa Henrietta Biggs; his parents, Robert Hugh and Marjorie Biggs; his sister Gwen Biggs; and his daughter Sherry Lynn Ingles.

Graveside services will be held October 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ogden City cemetery at 1875 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah. A gathering to honor Richard’s life will follow at the Lindquist Community Center located at 3434 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
