Reyna Gomez DeBruin, 39, of Montrose, Colorado, passed away on October 18, 2026.

Reyna was born in Montrose in August 1987. At age four, she was adopted by Gordon and Marilyn DeBruin. She grew up alongside her brothers, Jose and Grady, attending schools in Montrose and Mancos.

After high school, Reyna moved to Phoenix, where she connected with her biological father, Jose Gomez. In May 2026, she returned to Montrose with two of her three children and went to work at Marshalls, where she loved her co-workers and excelled at her job.

Reyna loved the Lord and was part of several church communities in Montrose and Phoenix. She enjoyed walks, volleyball, swimming, and cornhole games with her children. She had a kind, gentle disposition and worked hard as a single mom to care for her children. They were a tight-knit family.

Reyna is survived by her three children, Reyes, Christian, and Sara Gomez; her parents, Gordon and Marilyn DeBruin; and her brothers, Jose DeBruin and Grady DeBruin.

A private service will be held for the family, followed by cremation.

A saint is going home
