Monte L Melanson

Monte L Melanson peacefully passed away February 3, 2024. Born June 30, 1955, in Montrose, CO, to William L. Melanson and Billie M. (Combs) Engberg, he will be dearly missed by family and friends. Monte was a graduate of Olathe High School and a State level wrestler. Monte loved the outdoors, spending numerous days traversing the Uncompahgre Plateau, cutting firewood with his brother and exploring the surrounding areas of the Western Slope. He was a mountain man born 100 years too late. Monte always raised a variety of livestock and truly enjoyed the farming/ranching lifestyle.

He leaves behind his beloved family: His wife Lee Ann Loupe; his daughter Jessica (Jake) Jordan; grand-daughter Jemma Jordan; sisters Mona (Sam) Palmer and Glenda (Jim) Melanson and Pam (Perry) Nissler; stepmother Reola Melanson; stepfather Don Engberg, Carmen Hull; numerous nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and brother Dean Melanson. No funeral or memorial services are planned. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory of Montrose is assisting the family. (970) 249-2121
