Marilynn Jane English

Marilynn Jane English, age 92, of Montrose, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2025.

Marilynn was born on February 3, 1933, in Herman, Nebraska, to Robert and Mabel Rasmussen. She graduated from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska, with a degree in teaching.

On August 31, 1985, she married Tom English, and they shared nearly four decades together in Montrose. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, great mother and great - great grandmother Marilynn was known for her love of sewing, crafting, gardening, floral arranging, and baking. She had a special heart for children. Marilynn was a faithful member of the Christian Church, where she loved greeting people each Sunday with a warm smile. She was also a longtime member of the Cattle Women, where she built lasting friendships and proudly supported the ranching and agricultural community.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom English of Montrose; her children Kyle Phillips, Robyn Westergaard, Kimberly Witt-Phillips, Shawn Linsacum, and Dawn Roberts; her stepdaughter Michelle Dracon and 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and 5 step-grandchildren.

Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mabel Rasmussen; her children Jan Phillips and Darcy Phillips; her brother Robert Rasmussen; and her sister Phyllis McMullen, her grandsons Timothy Linsacum and Kevin Rider.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Montrose Christian Church, with burial to follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, at Crippin Funeral Home.
