Marcella Joyce Parker (Urban)

Marcella Joyce Parker passed away at home on December 26, 2021.

Marcella was born to Joseph Urban Jr and Rose (Hulinsky) Urban on September 20, 1933 in Arcadia Nebraska.  She was raised on a farm and rode her horse several miles to the Myrtle township for school where she also pitched for the baseball team. She developed a great love for horses and the outdoors.

She married Dave Parker on April 14, 1953.   They have two children, David (Lisa) Parker of Pearl City Hawaii and Teresa (Gale) Goforth of Bedrock Colorado. Two grandchildren, Craig (Angela) Goforth Burns WY and Becky (Jerry Roat) Goforth Independence KS. Six great grandchildren Justin, Madison, Alana, Violet Goforth ,  Makaela Vodopich, and Kody Goforth. One great great granddaughter Logan Lee Vodopich.

They moved to Denver area in 1959 where she worked as a checker in a grocery store. They came to the Nucla area in 1964 where she worked as a substitute teacher in the grade school. They later moved to Bedrock where she served as Postmaster for 24 years.

She loved being by her husband’s side for 67 years of friendship, adventures and travel.  Together they loved exploring the area, riding horses and traveling.

Crippin Funeral Home assisted with a graveside funeral service at the Nucla-Naturita cemetery on Jan 3, 2022.
