Louella (Lou-Lou as she was affectionately known by family) Golden passed away in her sleep at Hope Springs Care Center in Montrose, Co. She was born in Chama, New Mexico to Elizabeth Russom (Ulibarri) and Dan Russom. The family moved to Montrose, Co in 1969 and Louella graduated from Montrose High School. Lou-Lou was kind and friendly to everyone. Her faith in God was incredibly strong. She enjoyed reading the bible and attended bible study whenever she could. “Aunt Lou-Lou” loved her nieces and nephews beyond measure and was always happy when she could spend time with them. She was very thoughtful, always noting everyone’s birthday and always thinking of others. She sent out birthday and Christmas cards religiously and loved talking on the phone with family members.
Louella was preceded in death by her parents, including her stepfather Miguel Ulibarri; her brother Donny Russom, nephew Ernesto Robles Jr. and her beloved feline companion, Gracie. She is survived by a son, Danny Ross, brothers Richard Russom (Chama) and Roger Russom (Montrose); sisters Edna Ulibarri (Las Vegas, NM), Norma Garcia (Twin Falls, ID), Patricia Lemus and Donna Russom (Montrose, CO), and Kathy Robles (Grand Junction, CO). She is also survived by many nieces and grand-nieces, nephews and grand-nephews, as well as cousins.
Louella was loved by family and friends and will be missed dearly. We will cherish her memory in our hearts forevermore.
