Leland Laverne Koehler

April 6, 1929 — January 15, 2024

Leland Laverne Koehler, son of Herbert E. & Frieda (Bartel) Koehler, born April 6, 1929 in East Bloomfield, WI passed away at home January 15, 2024 at 94 years of age.

Served as a Sgt in the Army from 1947-1952 and served in the Korean War. Married October 23, 1954 to Pat Martin at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Weyauwega, WI. He worked as a route salesman, delivery person for various dry-cleaning businesses in WI & CO.

In 1972 Lee and Pat moved to Colorado Springs and after 25 years there, they moved to Montrose in 1997 where they have since resided. Lee enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, watching Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, and gambling.

Survived by his wife Pat of 69 years, sister-in-law Louise Koehler, brother-in-law Ken Porrey and brother-in-law Jim (Hilda) Martin, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends, and his dog Zoey Joe.

Preceded in death by his mother & father, brothers, Herb Jr., Milton, infant brother Dewane, sister Shirley, and other relatives & friends. Cremation has taken place. Per Lees wishes a memorial service will be held at a later date in Wisconsin with military honors. Donations can be made in Lee’s name at the Montrose Animal Shelter. Crippin Funeral Home is assisting the family (970) 249-2121.
