‘Kenny’, a devoted and loving father, passed away peacefully June 24th in Lubbock Texas, surrounded by those he loved and cherished the most. Born September 25th in Loma Linda California to John and Helen Fleming, he grew up in the iconic Butterfield Stagecoach stop in ‘Reche Canyon’ Colton California that his father converted into a home. Later, he and his parents briefly lived in Arizona before returning to their home in Reche Canyon where he was a member of the FFA and raised animals. Graduating from Colton High School, Kenneth then attended Crafton Hills College and San Bernardino Valley College and later became a Journeyman Electrician with the IBEW. He married his sweetheart, Cynthia Bell, and later divorced. He never remarried. They lived in Reche Canyon to raise their children, then he moved to southwest Colorado for a brief period. He then lived in Bloomington CA for many years and later retired and moved to Lubbock to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He was well liked by all that knew him and leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness that will be remembered by those who were blessed enough to know him. Or as his brother-in-law, Daniel said, “He is the last of the good guys.”

Kenneth leaves behind his beautiful children Joseph Fleming (Sarah), Justin Fleming (Brittany), Joshua Fleming (Kelsey), Amanda Fleming, brothers Joseph Fleming (Rose Marie) and John Fleming (Jacqueline), mother-in-law Joyce Wildenauer, brothers-in-law Stephen Bell (Tiffany) and Daniel Bell, sister-in-law Holli Boyer-Wengle (John), 13 grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, John ‘Jack’ William Fleming and Helen Louise Plummer Fleming, his daughter April Justine Fleming, half-brothers Charles Fleming, Robert Fleming, Jack Fleming, James Fleming, Richard Fleming, and half-sister, Virginia Fleming-Hammond.

Memorial will be held June 28, 2025, 11:00am at Quincy Park in Lubbock TX, and officiated by Kenneth’s brother, John Fleming. He will be laid to rest by Crippin’s Funeral Home at the Grand View Cemetery in Montrose Colorado next to his daughter April Fleming.
