Karen Kay Gulleson

Karen Kay Gulleson passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025 at the age of 60 due to respiratory failure at Valley Manor Care Center Nursing Home.

Born July 21, 1964 to Verlen and Helen Kelly in San Diego, CA. She was the youngest of 5 children.

She was known for her kind heart and anyone who knew her knew she was there to be involved with her family and friends. Karen could light up a room with her infectious smile, warm personality and appreciation for life, simple pleasures, a love for a good steak dinner and a huge passion for travel.

She shared her early childhood and early life with her siblings- Marianne, Peter, Patricia and Laurie, forming a firm family bond full of love, laughter and adventures that will always be treasured memories.

She married the love of her life on July 20, 1985- they had two children Christopher and Jessica. Sadly, she lost her husband "Dale" in 1990. She was a single mom-did her best every moment raising them on her own. She always looked on the bright side of things. She found joy in packing them up and going on adventures. She enjoyed being a mother.

She worked various jobs as a cashier throughout her life - her favorite was when she worked at the Wal-Mart. She loved helping and talking with people she encountered while working there. She was a very loving, kind person. She wore her heart on her sleeve with anyone she met. Always willing to help someone in need. She made new friends at this job. She would often come visit Colorado with her children, moving there in 2001.

She became a grandma in 2006-she loved her grandchildren so much. They were her world. Her face would light up when she would see them - Jesstyn, Bailey, Addyzin and Bentley. She never missed out on school events, sports, etc anything that happened in their life she was always right there.

She will forever be in our hearts, will always be loved. We will uphold the memories we had-Keep her shining always -
