Juanita (Missy) Hernandez (Trujillo)

Juanita “Missy” Hernandez, 41, of Montrose, CO passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024.

Missy was born in Craig, CO on May 5, 1982, to Leroy Hernandez and Olivia (Romero) Trujillo, both of Montrose.

Following high school, Missy spent years working as a customer service associate. A vivacious and spirited soul who connected easily with others, Missy was often sought out by managers to handle the toughest customers. Missy was a genuine person who possessed an energy and confidence to which so many of her friends and loved ones were drawn.

Family and friendship were always of the utmost importance to Missy, and she was always trying to do right by and what was best for her three beautiful children. A bright light, she touched the lives of all she encountered and will be greatly missed.

Taken too soon to be with the angels, Missy was predeceased by grandfather, Frank Hernandez, grandparents Carlos and Juanita Romero, brother, Manuel Hernandez and granddaughter, Willow Hernandez-Hess.

She is survived by her grandmother Tina Ochoa, parents Leroy Hernandez and Olivia Trujillo, brother Francisco, and her three children Mariah, Olivia, and Case. Married in 2023, Missy is also survived by husband David Dunham of Colorado Springs.

A private viewing and memorial has been set for the immediate family.
