John Henry Young

John Henry Young passed away on Sunday September 14th 2025 at his home in Montrose Colorado. He was 38 years old.

John was born in Houston Texas to John Edward and Glenda White Young on March 28th 1987. The family moved to Ridgway Colorado in 1999 where John attended and graduated from Ridgway High School. John attended college in Durango Colorado and WyoTech Automotive Technology in Wyoming. John then joined Turner Automotive Montrose Colorado in 2010. He left Turner after 15 years and attained a rating of Toyota Master Mechanic.

In 2011 John married Katlin Ann Morris and together they had two girls Brooke Ann Young (now 15) and Rylee Carole Young (now 12). The girls now live with their mother in Montrose Colorado.

John was an avid racing car enthusiast and driver. He started racing a mini Dwarf at 8 years old and continued from there to all off-road dirt racing venues. He and his father built all his race cars. More recently he was enjoying Drag Strip racing in Grand Junction Colorado.

John is survived by his parents, John and Glenda Young of Ridgway, Colorado, his daughters Brooke Ann Young and Rylee Carole Young and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. He is preceded in death by his Grand Parents and his half-sister Lindsey Brooke Young of Kansas.
