It is with deep sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Harold "Vernon" Glover, who peacefully entered eternal rest on June 19, 2026, at Montrose Regional Hospital, at the age of 82.

Vern was born on June 11, 1944, in Delta County, Colorado, to George and Nina Glover. He spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved, leaving behind a legacy of service, kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family.

On June 11, 2026, Vern and the love of his life, Erlene Callaway, celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and caring for others. He was a devoted husband, proud father, cherished grandfather, veteran, and loyal friend whose quiet strength and generous heart touched countless lives.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Erlene; his sons, Chad (Tami) Glover and Cory (Jessi) Glover; and his treasured grandchildren, Sydney, Trinity, Autumn, Tiffani, Alexis, Skye, and Kenzi, who were the light of his life. Nothing brought Vern greater joy than spending time with his family. He was endlessly proud of each of his grandchildren and celebrated every milestone, big or small. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Nina, his 3 siblings Everette Glover, Joyce Cless, and Theodore “Teddy” Glover.

Vern proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying the values of honor, dedication, and selflessness throughout his life. Those same values were reflected in his career, where he faithfully worked alongside his family at Callaway Meat Packing Plant for more than 40 years. His dedication, dependability, and unwavering commitment were a testament to the kind of man he was. Whether in uniform, at work, or with family and friends, Vern believed in hard work, loyalty, and serving others. He continued to give back to his community in countless ways throughout his life.

Known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, Vern never met a stranger. He loved joking with everyone he met and had a remarkable ability to brighten someone's day with a smile or a laugh. Whether he was calling out numbers during a game of BINGO, lending a helping hand to someone in need, or simply visiting with friends, Vern made people feel welcome and valued.

He was a proud member of the Elks Lodge, a lifetime member of the Cattlemen's Association, and an active member of American Legion Post 24 in Olathe, Colorado. He believed in giving back and quietly helped anyone who needed it, never expecting recognition in return.

Vern also held a deep love for his schools and his community. As a proud graduate of Olathe schools, he remained passionate about supporting school activities and celebrating the accomplishments of local students. He believed that strong communities were built by investing in future generations, and he took great pride in cheering on those around him.

Those who knew Vern will remember his kind heart, generous spirit, unwavering willingness to help others, infectious sense of humor, and the unconditional love he had for his family. Above all else, his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was the family he and Erlene built together.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that Vern is now at peace and reunited with loved ones who have gone before him. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love a gift that will never be forgotten.

A memorial service celebrating Vern's life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Circle 3 Church in Montrose, Colorado. Military honors will follow at Grand View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Olathe American Legion Post 24 or Montrose Cattlemen's Association scholarship, these two things were close to Vern's heart.
