Gary Roy Gratton 79, of Montrose, passed away at Valley Manor Care Center, after a long battle of Parkinson’s and PSP.

Born November 22, 1946, to Raymond and Alma Gratton in Cleveland, Ohio. 

After graduation in 1966, Gary joined the United States Marine Corp for a lifetime of service for his country, retiring in March 1997. Moving to Montrose, Colorado in December 1996, continuing to serve his community at Habitat for Humanity, Sharing Ministries, VFW and building little houses, sheds, different projects.

Gary is survived by his wife Suzanne of 49 years. United with five children: Denver Gratton (Ginger), Lynn Diero (Art) Chris Deter, Larry Gratton (Becca), Leigh Baker (Dan). 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Also, Sisters: Karen Allen, Marcia Klingman, & Melissa McGhee, brother-in-law: Chip Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by brother, Chad Gratton.

Gary’s faith was in the Lord Jesus Christ, a member of Christ Church of the Valley.
