Fred Emery Castle

Fred E. Castle was born September 26, 1967 and passed unexpectedly on April 2, 2025 at the age of 57.

He was raised in Montrose Colorado by his parents Fred H. Castle (passed) and Sylvia Castle. He had 3 amazing sisters, Diana (passed), Janet, and Kathy and many nieces and nephews.

In 1989 he met his wife, Diana Wordsman Castle. They got married in September 1990. They spent almost 36 years together and raised 2 wonderful daughters, Cierra and Misty.

During their 36 years together Fred worked for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He retired as a Police Sergeant. After retirement they moved to Montrose where he went to work for the Justice Center.

When he was not working Fred enjoyed spending time with family. Fred and Diana always felt like they were still on their honeymoon and enjoyed being together whether it was being in the mountains or watching a movie at home.

Fred will be greatly missed for his love and compassion for others.

A celebration of Fred’s life is planned for May 17, 2025, Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Montrose County Event Center, 1036 North 7th Street. Please join us for this Celebration and Potluck. Attire is casual, all friends and family are welcome. main course and beverages will be provided, please bring your favorite casserole, side dish or desert along with your favorite memory of Fred to share.
