Frank Duckett was born January 3, 1938, in Asheville, N. C., to Charles Duckett and Ida Faye Bryson Duckett. He was the second of four children; all of whom predeceased him. He grew up in Asheville and Knoxville, TN.
On his birthday in 1957, Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force. In November of 1963 he married Betty Jean Tye. Three children were born to this union,
Frank’s Air Force career necessitated frequent moves and the family lived in many places, including Arkansas, Spain, California, Nebraska, Georgia, Puerto Rico, Florida, Virginia and Texas. He retired from the Air Force after 26 years; receiving a meritorious service award at retirement. He graduated from the University of Texas-San Antonio with a BA in Political Science in 1986.
The Ducketts relocated to Montrose, CO in 1992. He was longtime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ouray. He was an avid, lifelong Tennessee Volunteers football fan and could often be seen wearing orange in honor of the team.
He is survived by his wife, three children – Elizabeth White of Montrose, Amy Hallmark (Mike) of Datil, New Mexico, Jeffrey Duckett (Amanda) of Delaware, Ohio, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank San Juan Cancer Center and Valley Manor Care Center for the care Frank received.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11th at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ouray, CO. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Montrose, CO.
