On September 20 2023 Dustin Lavelett joined our Heavenly Father at the age of 40. Dustin is a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend.
Dustin was born February 15, 1983 to Scott and Bobbi (Havens) Lavelett. As a child, Dustin spent most of his time with his twin sister Chyanne and older brother Cody. When he wasn’t playing outside with his siblings, he was running around with his cousins at family functions, fishing with his grandpa, or riding around in the semi-truck his father drove.
Dustin attended Olathe High School and graduated in 2001. While in high school, he attended Delta Vo-tech earned his AutoCad certification. Dustin lived an adventurous life after high school, traveling and working in many places. He worked at the fuel docks at Lake Powell before working the ski lifts in Park City, Utah. He even spent time as a pipeline foreman in North Dakota. Dustin most recent employment was a coal miner at West Elk Mine in Paonia. A jack of all trades, Dustin enjoyed learning new things and meeting new people.
In his down time, Dustin could be found hiking, riding his motorcycles, playing pool, fishing, and spending time with his beloved fur-baby, Morgan; a border collie who now joins Dustin in heaven.
Dustin is survived by his parents, Scott and Bobbi Lavelett, his older brother Cody Lavelett, his twin sister Chyanne Lavelett, his nephew Austin Lavelett, his niece Reagan Coghill, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Dustin is preceded in death by both Grandfathers Ralph Lavelett and Leslie Havens.
Dustin is deeply missed by his family and friends. The celebration of Life will be held on Sunday October 8th, 2023 at 1pm at 92 Marine Drive, Montrose, Co. Pot Luck reception to follow.
