Darshon
Walker
January 14, 1982 – June 12, 2026
Darshon Walker was born in Lovell, Wyoming January 14, 1982 to Terry Sawyer Walker and Sharleen Rowley. Her family moved to Montrose, Colorado in July 1983. Darshon attended Olathe and Montrose Schools. She was chosen as the Montrose FFA Sweetheart and selected as the Montrose County Fair and Rodeo Queen in 2000. She was active in 4-H and FFA. She graduated from Montrose High School in 2000.
Darshon met Tim Montover while working in Grand Junction, Colorado. They were married in July 2003.To that union was born Rosalie Joe Montover and Lukas Leno Montover. Her children were her whole world. They spent a lot of time jeeping, going to the family cabin and elk hunting. This marriage ended in divorce in 2018.
Darshon worked for Rifle School District RE-2 at Elk Creek Elementary in New Castle, emergency dispatch for Garfield County and Garfield County Courts. In the courts she started out as a Judicial Court Assistant and finished her career as Supervisor of the Rifle Courts. Darshon was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. She fought the disease with chemo and surgery and beat it and the cancer came back in 2022. She fought it again with chemo, surgery and radiation and the final diagnosis was in November of 2024. She did chemo pills for a bit but decided to live her life to the fullest.
She met Diego Pina while working at Garfield County Courts. Her life with Diego was full of adventures and travels. Diego helped her through all of her sicknesses and surgeries, and they had a lot of fun together. Their dog Jizzy was the third child, and he brought lots of joy, comfort and support.
In the summer of 2025 her and Diego separated, and she moved back to her hometown of Montrose to be near her family. Darshon was very outgoing, bubbly and her love was unconditional to everyone she met. She could light up a random stranger’s day with just her radiant smile.
