Claudia Wilks Muir

Claudia Wilkes Muir, born November 19th, 1944, to Mary Frances Burkholder Muir and Earl Robert Muir Jr. of Louisville Kentucky.

Claudia attended The Kentucky Home School for Girls and went on to graduate from The University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later married Telluride attorney David Hoffman. Claudia and David built a home in the Telluride area and spent their years together traveling, raising their prize winning Kuvasz dogs, and making a point to attend the Telluride Film Festival every year. Claudia loved everything to do with books and film.

After the couple divorced in the early 2000’s, Claudia moved back to her hometown of Louisville to care for her parents. She married John Ross in July of 2012 and continued to travel, read, attend the opera she spent her lifetime loving, and attending dog shows. After retiring from showing her beloved Kuvasz due to her diagnosis of Dementia, she and John moved back to Colorado to be closer to family, where John loved and cared for her through her decline. Claudia passed away in the early hours of March 10th, due to complications of her Dementia. She is survived by her husband John and her brother Robin Muir, who still resides in Kentucky.
