OLATHE — Robert N. Workman, age 57, of Olathe, passed away Sept. 20, 2011, at the Delta County Memorial Hospital. Robert was born Nov. 25, 1953, to Robert Carl and Betty Jean (McPherson) at Montrose. He spent his childhood in Montrose and graduated from Montrose High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, Robert went on to college at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, graduating with a B.A. in psychology and diesel mechanics. He married Judy Dantzman, the love of his life, in March of 2003. He was previously married to Sandy Wescott-Fuller and his second wife, Audrey Inskeep, and to this union had five children. Robert loved spending time with his wife, Judy, children and grandchildren. They were all very special to him. Robert was a seeker of learning new things and loved sharing his knowledge with his children. He would often include his children’s friends also. A great love of Robert’s life was riding his Harley and fishing. He enjoyed darts and would try to beat his wife, Judy, at the game. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Surviving family members include his beloved wife, Judy; children, Clarissa (Scott) Field, Nathaniel Workman, Trevor Workman, Valerie (Anton) Kilpa, and Kasmira Workman, all of Grand Junction, Colo.; his stepchildren, Shawna Welfelt of Montrose; and also daughter, in spirit, Tabitha Chapman, Dana Linville of Olathe and Heather Linville of Montrose. Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation for family and friends was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of Robert’s life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, in memory of Robert Workman, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
