Laura W. Wolff

CEDAREDGE — Laura W. Wolff of Cedaredge died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta, Colo. She was 91. Laura was born in Ignacio, Colo. to Millard and Lillian Amrine. She spent her childhood in Cortez, Colo. It was there that she met the man she would share her life with; she was married May 28, 1939 to Walter H. Wolff in Dolores, Colo. From 1942 through 1944, Walter worked on defense projects in Monticello, Utah, Miami, Ariz. and El Paso, Texas. They returned to Cortez, Colo. then to Gunnison, Colo. in 1955 to Pastor and build the Assembly of God Church and parsonage. In 1970, they moved to Camp Cedaredge, owned by the Assemblies of God, where they worked as caretakers until retiring in 1993. In 2001, Laura moved in with her daughter until moving to Willow Tree Care Center in 2007.
She is survived by one daughter, Artis Miller and husband, Dick; two grandchildren, Darron Miller and his wife, Julie of Ridgecrest, Calif., Vicky Dix and her husband, Greg of Fort Collins, Colo.; and four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Miller, Lindsey Miller, Courtney Dix and Braden Dix. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; her son, Norman Wolff; one brother, Wesley Amrine; and one sister, Mary Jane White.
Laura loved to cook, read, sew, crochet, embroidery and quilt. She enjoyed taking the elderly shopping and doing things for them. A highlight of their life was visiting their son when he was stationed in England.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at the Cedaredge Assembly of God with Pastor Bob Hillyer officiating. Inurnment will be at the Cedaredge Cemetery.
