Pauline H. Witten, age 87, of Montrose, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at home. Pauline was born Jan. 20, 1924 to John L. and Arminta (Allen) Harrington in Paintsville, Ky. She received her education there and graduated high school in Paintsville. Pauline married Herbert F. Witten July 3, 1942 in Prestonsburg, Ky. He preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1998 in Paintsville. Pauline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and worked as a secretary for many years prior to her retirement. She attended the Christian Church while residing in Paintsville.
Surviving family members include her children, Herbert M. (Mary) Witten of Argillite, Ky; daughter, Gloria A. (Larry) Hall of Montrose; one grandson Thomas Brant Hall. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert, son Joel Allen Witten. At Pauline’s request, no services will be held and inurnment will be held in Kentucky at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, in memory of Pauline Witten, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, Co. 81402.
