Robert was born May 11, 1936 in Alliance, Nebraska to Kenneth O. and Velma E. Wildt.  He spent his childhood in Alliance and graduated from Alliance High School in 1954.  He married Kathlyn (Kathy) Meta Koester, his high school sweetheart, on June 21, 1963.  Kathy and Robert lived in Alliance; Denver, Colorado; Hoffman Estates, Il; Schaumburg, Il; and Montrose, Colorado where they both retired.  Sadly, Kathy died on July 14, 2011.

Robert attended Nebraska State at Chadron, Nebraska, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.  Following graduation, he entered the U.S. Army where he served with the Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  After that assignment, he spent 13 months with the Eighth U. Army and was stationed in Seoul Korea.  His tour was lengthened due to increased hostilities in Southeast Asia.   He was honorably discharged after National Guard service, active duty, and extended time in Korea.

Following his military service, Robert returned to Alliance where he served in a management position with the Brand Committee which dealt with the ownership of cattle and prevention of livestock theft.  His career then took him to Denver, Colorado where he joined the management team of Frigidaire, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors.

In 1977, Frigidaire was purchased by White Consolidated Industries and Robert joined the new management team in Chicago.  He then joined a company making copper circuit boards and later joined Motorola Co.  He retired in 1998.

Robert enjoys hunting small game and fishing and has spent many enjoyable hours in those activities.  He is also an excellent contract bridge player and achieved duplicate bridge Life Master status in 2009.  His partner was his wife Kathy who also achieved Life Master status.  At Robert’s request, cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colo.
