Marietta J. Webbe

MONTROSE — Marietta J. Webbe, age 75, of Montrose, passed away Oct. 3, 2010, at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose. Marietta was born May 21, 1935 to Edward and Dorothy I. (Gillis) Krosky in Denver, Colo.
Marietta and Ted were high school sweethearts. They were married in Edgewater, Colo. in 1954, and lived many years there, and then Lakewood and Ken Caryl. They built their foundation for life in Edgewater, surrounded by close friends and family. In Edgewater, Marietta was very active in city government, serving on the Parks and Recreation Board and numerous other volunteer positions. In 1992, she served on the city of Edgewater Charter Commission to adopt a new charter for the city. She worked at Morey Mercantile in Denver early on, and several banks, and then Coors Porcelain in Golden. Her favorite position for 20 years was insurance and billing with Jefferson Center for Mental Health in Arvada. Marietta loved her co-workers there. She was active in many clubs and developed life long friends whom she dearly loved and who loved her. Among them, were her bridge club, a Pinochle club, high school girls club, The Red Hat Society and many others.
Marietta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Ted and Marietta have three children, Christiana Strong, Ken Webbe and Curt Webbe and wife Melissa; four grandchildren, Marissa Romano and husband Mike, Ryan Strong, Kyle and Cameron Webbe.
A memorial service in celebration of Marietta’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Montrose. The service will conclude at the church. A reception for family and friends will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at the Cobble Creek Club house. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O.
