MONTROSE — Fred Walker, 95, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his home in Montrose. Fred had lived in Montrose for four years and had come to like the town and its friendly people very much. He had lived his entire life in California, where he had a long career as a building contractor and was also president of the Los Angeles Rotary Club and the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce. His hobbies included golf, boat racing, collecting antique cars, woodworking and reading a good mystery. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Bartshe, Golden, Colo., Janet Schaeffer, Ridgway, Colo.; and son, John Walker, Simi Valley, Calif.
