Eunice Killen Terry

Feb. 20, 1921 — March 13, 2011

 

MONTROSE — Eunice Killen Terry, age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 13, 2011. Eunice was born Feb. 20,1921, in Palo Pinto County,Texas.  She spent her childhood in that area and graduated from high school in Gordon,Texas in 1939. She married James Killen in Midland,Texas in 1943. They moved to the Montrose area in 1947. James preceded her in death in 1962. Eunice married Edwin Terry of Montrose June 10,1966, in Delta, Colo. Edwin preceded her in death on July 6, 2000.

Eunice loved the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olathe since 1954. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge for over 50 years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, doing puzzles and reading. She also liked to fish and picnic in the  beautiful Colorado mountains. The highlight of her life were her children and grandchildren. She loved them so very much and will be deeply missed by them all.

Surviving family members include her children, Alfred (Al) Killen and wife Rogene of Johnstown, Colo.; daughter, Gail Kiehlbauch and husband Ken of Montrose, Colo.; Step-son LeRoy (Arlene) Terry of Denver, and Step-daughter Marlene (David) Reeves of Sandy, Ut., sisters, Wino Gene Gonzales of Minneapolis, Minn. and Elizabeth Gayton of Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren, Stacey Stephens of Denver, Colo., Jimi Killen(Shawna) of Fort Collins, Colo., Laura, Christina and Bethany Kiehlbauch of Siloam Springs, Ark.; six step-grandchildren, Susan (Terry) Sheaqui, Steven Terry, Scott Terry, Donna (Reeves) Bargar, Laura (Reeves) Ford, and Mark Reeves; three

great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Cecilia Vaughan, of Gordon, Texas; and sister, Marie Scott of Mingus,Texas.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service in celebration of Eunice's life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Olathe, 110 West 4th Street. Interment will follow the service at the Olathe Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Mission's Program of Valley Baptist Church, 62985 Hwy 90 Montrose, CO 81403 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O.
