Michael Douglas Sullivan
January 17, 1943 - April 17, 2012
Michael Douglas Sullivan began his journey on this earth January 17, 1943 to parents Douglas and Lucinda Sullivan in Norwood, Colo. He was the eldest of six children and spent his childhood helping on the family ranch. Mike met his lifetime sweetheart Barbara Marshall at a gas station in Redvale, Colorado and they were married on August 11, 1962. He enjoyed spending time with family, was passionate about his work and his horses.
Mike was a miner for many years, when the mines shut down in 1984, his career path would change leading to the formulation of Alpine Mountain Construction Inc. Mike along with longtime partner and friend Rod Kukulan went on to build many fine custom homes in Telluride and the surrounding areas. Mike and Rod took great pride in their work and would go on to be featured in custom home building magazines.
Mike was a pillar of the community, as well as an elder at Telluride Christian Fellowship. Mike loved God and had chance to touch many lives through his work and the church.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Gerald. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Montrose, his children Michael Sullivan Jr. of Montrose, Jeff (Dana) Sullivan of Grand Junction, and Stacie (Carl) Via of Montrose; his four grandchildren, Wade and Megan Sullivan, Carlie and Carissa Via; brothers Stephen and Tim Sullivan, and sisters Sheila Reeves and Kathy Zelazny along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved and praised Jesus with every part of his being until the day he completed his journey joining Him in eternity on April 17, 2012.

A Memorial Service in loving memory of Michael will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Grace Community Church in Montrose. The Service will conclude at the church.
