Callie Ann Searle
July 29, 1942 ~ November 23, 2011
Callie was born on July 29, 1942 in Craig, Colo., to Commadore O. Hultz and Grace (Leggett-Rickerby) Hultz. She spent her childhood in Baggs, Wyo., Craig and Steamboat Springs, Colo. She married Paul D. Carr on May 29, 1960. They were later divorced. On Oct. 14, 1971 she married Raymond E. Searle, he preceded her in death. They moved to Montrose in 1985 where they opened a propane/RV store and a used book store. Callie was an owner of the Book Trader. She enjoyed reading, crafts, gardening and being with her family and friends.
Callie had three children; Ty E. Carr who preceded her in death; and two surviving daughters, Gynee (Scott) Thomassen of Delta and Patricia (Michael) Searle-McDowell of Montrose; her loving grandchildren, Angela (Tim) Smith of San Francisco, Calif., Randi Carr and Britni Carr of Oregon, Nyssa Thomassen of Ganado, Ariz., Camdyn Thomassen of Denver, Colo., Syndi (Dillon) Searle-VanGundy of Fort Carson, Colo., and Ty J. Searle of Montrose. Her beloved brother Dean (Mary) Rickerby of Cedaredge, Colo. also survives. Callie was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her son Ty, her parents, and brothers, Robert Rickerby, Rodney Rickerby, Richard Rickerby, Dale Rickerby and Gene Hultz. Cremation has taken place and Callie’s request for no services. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P. O. Box 1804, Montrose, Colo. 81402. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colo.
