Paul Rubalcaba

OLATHE — Paul Rubalcaba, age 74, lifetime Olathe resident, passed away Feb. 22, 2011, at the Montrose Memorial Hospital. Paul was born Aug. 8, 1936, to Margarito and Ysabelita (Archuleta) Rubalcaba in Olathe, Colo. Paul married his wife, Genevieve "Jen" Nov. 10, 1956, in Montrose, Colo. She preceded him in death at age 69, following an auto accident. Paul and Jen shared 53 years of marriage as best friends. They were always together. He loved to farm and work in his garden. Paul also enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.
Surviving family members include his son, Tim Woolsey of the family home in Olathe; four sisters: Isabel, Florence, Celia and Annie. Paul and Jen leave behind many nieces and nephews whose lives were impacted positively; everyone loved Uncle Paul and Aunt Jen. Now they are together forever-- good friends for eternity. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Jen; two sisters, Virginia and Margaret; and brothers, Ralph, Willie, Benjamin and Frank Rubalcaba.
A memorial service in celebration of Paul’s life was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at the Olathe Assembly of God Church. The service concluded at the church. Arrangements were under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home, 802 E. Main St., Montrose, CO 81401 (970) 249-2121.
