Edith Nancy Hanlon Noble

July 29, 1917 ~ April 17, 2012

Edith Nancy Hanlon Noble was born on July 29, 1917 to John and Katie Hanlon in Arnett, Oklahoma.  When Edith was 6 months old the Hanlon family of 3 boys and 3 girls moved by covered wagon to Delta, Colorado.

There Edith met and married Howard G. Noble on September 5th, 1935.  To this union, four children were born:  Bonnie Jean, James Dee, Joan Ruth, and Howard Roger.  All still reside in Colorado.

Edith was proud of the success she and Howard achieved through their years of hard work and personal sacrifice.  They started their sheep business with only 3 bum lambs and grew it into quite a successful business.  Edith had many fond memories of sheep-camp life; living in two tents - one used for a kitchen and one for a bedroom.  By 1946 they were able to sell a herd of 1,000 ewes and move to Ridgway where they raised their family and lived for many years.

Edith was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Peace came to Edith Nancy Hanlon Noble on the morning of

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 at the age of 94.

Edith is survived by her 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren, and one sister, Viola Hoos.

She was preceded in death by one special grandson, Jimmy D. Noble.
