Raymond Eugene Nichols

Raymond Eugene Nichols, of Montrose passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at the
Montrose Memorial Hospital at the age of 56. Raymond was born March 7, 1954 to
Charles F. and Virginia (Richardson) Nichols at Cheyenne, Wyo. He spent his
childhood and graduated from East High School in Cheyenne. Raymond married his
wife, Terri Jo on July 7, 1973 while residing in Cheyenne and had celebrated 37
wonderful years together. He and Terri moved to Montrose 20 years ago to raise their
family and made their home until his time of death. They were members of the Church
of Christ in Montrose. Raymond was an Engineering Technician for the U. S. Forest
Service and worked for Matterhorn Printing years ago in Montrose. Raymond loved
the outdoors, the mountains and Colorado. Jeeping was a favorite past time, hiking,
camping, and fishing especially around the Ouray mountain peaks. Raymond loved
photography and was very talented. He enjoyed spending time on his computer.
Raymond leaves his imprint on all those he influenced, and will be greatly missed by his
family and friends.
Surviving family members who were honored to share in Raymond’s life include his wife
Terri Jo Nichols of Montrose; his parents, Charles and Virginia Nichols of Cheyenne,
Wyo; two sons, Shawn and Ryan Nichols, both of Montrose; and two grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas ‘Nick’ Nichols and Allan Dale
Nichols.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Church of
Christ on Sunnyside Road in Montrose. The service will conclude at the church. In lieu
