Armando J. Montes, Jr., age 43 of Olathe, passed away suddenly late Sunday morning, August 14, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Center in Grand Junction, Co.
Armando J. Montes was born to Armando and Irma (Ortiz) Montes June 8, 1968 in San Jose, California.
Armando spent most of his childhood in the San Jose area, where he attended school and graduated from Overfelt High School.
Armando was a machinist; he loved working on all kind of cars, especially restoring classic cars. He previously lived in San Jose, Ca. and Portland, Or., before settling in Olathe, till the time of his death.
Armando married Melissa Ratliff on December 22, 2008 in Montrose, Co. Armando was a family man, he loved doing as much as he could with his family, especially when it came to fishing.
Survivors include his wife Melissa Montes of the family home, his mother Irma (George) Fernandez of Montrose, and his father Armando Montes Sr., of Olathe, Co. As well as his children Joseph Montes, Jordan Montes both of Montrose, Paul Ratliff of Olathe, Co, Andrea Montes of Montrose, Kristen Cressler, and Madison Cressler both of Olathe, Co. Armando is also survived by his brothers Ruben Montes of Denver, Tony Montes of Olathe, and his sister Amanda Montes of Montrose, and one granddaughter Aleksandra Ratliff. Armando is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Memorial Service in loving memory of Armando is scheduled for Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Calvary Chapel in Montrose with Pastor Ben Garate officiating. Condolences may also be made to the family at www.crippinfuneralhome.com.
