Rosenaldo Martinez

Rosenaldo Martinez, lifetime Montrose resident, passed away at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose, on Dec. 24, 2011 at the age of 83. Rosenaldo was born Sept. 12, 1928 to Sebastian and Sarah (Alires) in Montrose. Following his childhood and education, he worked for many years as a sheep herder and also for a local sawmill. Rosenaldo married Fedeline Lovato on Sept. 14, 1957 in Montrose. Here they made their home and raised their children. His family, and grandchildren were very special to him. He loved western movies, rodeos, and listening to western music. Rosenaldo and his dogs were always together. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Surviving family members include his wife, Fedelina; son Bill R. Martinez; daughters Beverly Ann Delaplane of Montrose, Teresa Lynn Wilkes of Clayton, OK., Carmen Marie Cook of Montrose; brother Henry P. Martinez; two sisters, Nellie Gallegos and Mary Recalde of Montrose; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Rosenaldo was preceded in death by his parents, a younger brother, son and a granddaughter. At Rosenaldo’s request, cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co.
