Leroy Eliseo Lucero

MONTROSE — Leroy Eliseo Lucero, born on March 5, 1946, to Jose B. and Angela C. Lucero, in Ignacio, Colo., passed away on April 4, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Carmelita and Theresa. He is survived by his mother; his brothers, Tony, Joe, Eugene and Fred; his sisters, Carmen, Stella, Della and Beatrice; his children, Treva, Glenda, Devon, Kristen, Leroy, Larry, Randy and Casey; and two grandchildren. Leroy was always eager to help everyone, not only his family and friends. He was the type of person who would give a perfect stranger the shirt off his back without being asked. A kinder more gentle person he could not have been. He served his country in the armed forces. He loved to talk and had an incredible imagination and sense of humor. He was an excellent storyteller. He brought us joy and we loved him well. His family and friends miss him dearly. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at the Valley Lawn Cemetery with Father Mark Bettinger officiating.
