Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Leary

Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Leary, 60, of Cimarron (Arrowhead Ranch), Colorado, husband of Richard Leary, died on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011. She was the daughter of Richard Thomas Maher and Gloria Jane Maher (maiden name Stine), both deceased, and stepmother Kathryn (Kay) Maher (maiden name Stine), also deceased. Kathy was born on Aug. 22, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to Cincinnati, Kathy was also a long time resident of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area and resided in Longmont, Colorado before moving to Arrowhead Ranch. Surviving in addition to her husband are stepdaughter Jennifer Leary, stepsister Melissa Hoy, stepbrother David Lakes, daughter-in-law Amy Leary, step-granddaughter Miranda Leary, and step-grandson Colin Leary. Kathy was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Wyncote, Pennsylvania and a graduate of La Salle University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a B.A. in English, Speech, and Drama. She was a member of the Masque theater group from 1972 to 1975 and appeared in many stage productions during both high school and college. She was employed by several companies during her working years but was proudest of her service while working as a System Analyst for General Electric Aerospace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Saturday, Nov. 12, 201, at 2:00pm at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel, 802 E Main St, Montrose, CO. Burial will be at the Grand View Cemetery in Montrose immediately after the memorial. Reception will be held at 5 PM at the Inn at Arrowhead, Cimarron, Colorado. Please feel free to honor Kathy’s memory as you see fit. While flowers would be much appreciated, donations in Kathy’s name to cancer fighting organizations such as the American Cancer Society, United Breast Cancer Foundation, Breast Cancer Relief Foundation, National Cancer Coalition, or similar organizations are also appreciated.
