Ruth M. Jones

MONTROSE — Ruth M. Jones, age 83, of Montrose, passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 30, 2011, at the Montrose Memorial Hospital.
Ruth was born Nov. 16, 1927 in Minden, Nev. to Martin and Anna (Johnson) Carstensen. Ruth spent most of her childhood in Minden, Nev. and graduated from Douglas High School in Gardnerville, Nev.
For many years, Ruth worked at Biff's Coffee Shop in Van Nuys, Calif., a popular spot for the Van Nuys Hot Rods to show their cars. On March 10, 1973, Ruth married Gail (Jonsey) Jones in North Hollywood, Calif. Jonsey and Ruth celebrated 30 years of marriage, before Jonsey passed away on Nov. 25, 2003, in Montrose.
Ruth loved and adored her family; they were always very important to her. Ruth enjoyed cooking and sewing. Ruth was a member of the Menoken Church in Montrose.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Anna Garringer and Jackie Dickinson, both of Montrose, as well as two brothers, Carl Carstensen of Sparks, Nev. and Roy Carstensen of Yerrington, Nev. Ruth is also survived by two precious grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Ruth is preceded in death by her son, William Campbell; her husband, Jonsey; and her parents.
At Ruth's request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
