Robert H. Hohbein

Robert H. Hohbein passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at his winter home in Casa Grande, Ariz., at the age of 74. Robert was born Sept. 15, 1937 in Fairbury, Neb., to Henry and Anna (Jansen) Hohbein.
Robert married Thelma Holmes on Feb. 16, 1957 in Denver, Colo. They continued to reside in Denver, where Robert worked for Western Electric prior to relocating to Montrose, where he later retired. In 1993, Robert and Thelma purchased an RV and would travel, then winter in Casa Grande, Ariz. And then would return to Montrose to spend the summer.
Robert was a member of the Montrose Elk’s Lodge, and a former off road Jeep racer and motorcycle enthusiast. His special interests were his family, children and grandchildren. Robert made many lifelong friends in his travels and will be greatly missed by them and his family.
Surviving family members include one son, Robert ‘Dean’ (Teresa) Hohbein; daughter, Donna (James) Wilson, both of Cortez, Colo; five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Thelma of 51 years.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Crippin Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery, West of Montrose. Memorial contributions may be made to R.T.A. Hospice of Casa Grande, in memory of Robert Hohbein, 1675 East Monument Plaza Dr., Casa Grande, Ariz. 85222. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co.
