MONTROSE — Dean J. Harrison, age 61, lifetime Montrose resident, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 14, 2011. Dean was born Jan. 6, 1950, in Montrose, Colo. to Joe B. and Harriett C. (Veo) Harrison. He grew up in Montrose and graduated from Montrose High School in 1968. Dean was a talented stone and tile craftsman and a perfectionist in his work. He loved his Harley’s and took great pride in his yard. Dean had the greenist, neatest yard in the neighborhood.
Dean is survived by his wife, Tracy (Allies); son, Joe (Jodie); daughter, Kim; brother, Darwin (Julia); sister, Marguerite (Pat) Wakefield; mother-in-law, Shirley Allies; sister-in-law, Joyce; and many relatives, friends and the Dog Brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose Botanical Society, in memory of Dean Harrison, P.O. Box 323, Montrose, CO 81402. A celebration of Dean’s life will held from 11:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Ted Nelson’s Steakhouse. Bring your favorite fingerfood dish.
