Gail Diane Goddard

Gail Diane Goddard, age 58, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, Mar. 10, 2011 at her home in Montrose. Gail was born Aug. 26, 1952 to Alden V. and Adeline (Wingfield) Wigzell in Dahran, Saudia Arabia. She spent her childhood in South America, Apple Valley and Costa Mesa, Calif., graduating high school in Apple Valley. Gail went on to Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, and received her accounting degree. She received her wings as an Airline Flight Attendant, but only for a short while. Gail lived with her sister, Bonnie before moving to Montrose in 1973, from Victorville, Calif. She visited Colorado as a teenager, and someday wanted to return. Gail worked for Sundance Motel in Delta before she worked for Delta-Montrose Electric Association, as a Senior Finance and Accounting Clerk for 33 years and currently was employed there.
Gail married Jack Goddard on Sept. 25, 2004 in Mesquite, Nev., and was previously married to Jim Sexton on July 14, 1976. She loved the Lord and was a Deacon for the Presbyterian Church in Eckert, Colo., and was a current member of the Calvary Chapel of Montrose. She loved flowers, gardening and the outdoors. As a young girl, she enjoyed riding horses and she loved animals of every kind. The highlight of her life were her children and grandchildren. She loved them so very much, and will be deeply missed by them all.
Surviving family members include her husband, Jack of the family home in Montrose; her children, Michael James Sexton of Clifton, Colo; daughter, Lisa Sue Sexton Martinez of Austin, Colo; brother, Terry (Penny) Wigzell of Kona, Hawaii; sister, Bonnie (Chuck) Nyre of Pagosa Springs, Colo; and 11 beautiful grandchildren; Michael Jr., Lenea, Destiny, Neveah, Dakota, David, Joshua, Colby, Jake, Logan, and Megan. Gail was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service in celebration of Gail’s life will be held on Thursday, Mar. 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Chapel of Montrose, 2201 South Townsend Ave., in Montrose, with Pastor Ben Garate officiating The service will conclude at the Church.
