Charles Jason George

March 4, 1944 ~ August 24, 2011

Charles Jason George, age 67, of Montrose, Colo., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011 at Montrose Memorial Hospital.  Charles was born Mar. 4, 1944 to Clarence and Charlotte ‘Kathryn’ (Capshew) George in Mayhill, N.M.  He received his education in N.M. and graduated from high school in Dexter, N.M.  Charles went onto college and became a Master Journeyman and skilled electrician.  Charles married his first wife, Norma and she preceded Charles in death in 1991.  Charles met Carol Schofield in Dutch John, Utah and were married Aug. 12, 1993 in Vernal, Utah.  Charles and Carol moved to Montrose in 1995, where they made their home until his time of death Charles had been a resident of Page, Ariz., Salt Lake City, Ut., Longview, Wash, El Paso, Tx., and Roswell, N.M.

Charles and Carol loved Colorado, and the mountains.  Charles enjoyed the great outdoors doing hunting, fishing, ATV riding, camping and taking in many adventures with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by them all.

Surviving family members include his beloved wife, Carol, of the family home in Montrose; his sons, Kelly Lance (Elizabeth) Taylor of Chireno, Tx., Steven Lee (Katrina) Taylor of Queen Creek, Ariz; daughters, Karen (Joe) Helfrich of Salt Lake City, Ut., Janet (Tim) Gladu of Jonesboro, Ill., Nanci Gibbons of Queen Creek, Ariz; one brother, Carrol (Virgie) of Canon City, Colo; and one sister, Delores (Sam) Morgan of Dallas, Tx; ten grandchildren, Britni (Justin) Moss, Tyler Gladu, Ryan Gladu, Jordan Taylor, Jayme Taylor, William Taylor, Andrew Helfrich, Shelby Taylor, Zachary Gibbons and Jacob Gibbons.  A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 at 11:00 am at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel.  The service will conclude at the Chapel.  Burial will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Maeser Fairview Cemetery, in Vernal, Utah.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, in memory of Charles George, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, Colo. 81401.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co.
