Wayne Everett Eades

September 11, 1916 ~ October 13, 2011

Wayne Everett Eades, age 95, of Montrose, Colo., passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011 at the Montrose Memorial Hospital.  Wayne was born Sept. 11, 1916 to Frank M. and Nettie (Criswell) Eades in Laverne, Okla. He was raised and received his education in Laverne.  Wayne married  Dorotha Hart on July 8, 1977 in Naturita, Colo.  He was previously married to his first wife, Marianne E. Eades who preceded him in death on July 29, 1970.  Wayne served his country in the United States Army during WWII from 1941 to 1944.   From Laverne, Okla., to Colorado, Wayne resided in Bedrock and then to Naturita area where he has made his home until his time of death.  He was a member of the Nucla Moose Lodge, and V.F.W., Post #9058 in Nucla.  Wayne enjoyed spending time with family, the outdoors, four-wheeling and going fishing.

Surviving family members include his wife, Dorotha; son, Mike (Cheryl) Eades of Redvale, Colo., Stepson, Denny (Reenie) Erwin of Montrose, Colo; daughters, Carla Seales of Craig, Colo., Susie (Mike) Keenan of Montrose, Colo; stepdaughters, Judy (Richard) Scheuerman of Naturita, Colo., Phyllis Knickerbocker of Nucla, Colo., Melody (Donnie) Kettle of Avon, Colo; and one surviving sister, Lois Evans of Enid, Okla; five grandchildren, and nine step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren.  Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marianne, brothers, Benny, Gilbert, Raymond and Merrill Eades, sisters, Stella Casey, Jaunita Wilson, Betty Payne.  Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 at the Congregational Church in Paradox.  Military Honors with flag presentation followed the service at Paradox Cemetery, in Paradox.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paradox Community Center, in loving memory of Wayne Eades.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co.
