Cloma Lee Dean

Cloma Lee Dean passed away February 6, 2012. Her husband, three sons and their wives plus a granddaughter were at home when she passed. Born Cloma Lee Camp on December 19, 1931 in rural Grant County, south of Sheridan, Arkansas, she was the fifth daughter born to Marion Brad and Ola Henslee-Camp. She had two younger brothers. She received her secondary education from the Sheridan school system, graduating in 1949.
In early 1951, Cloma moved to Burney, California to work and to be with two of her sisters who lived there. In Burney she met Billy Lee Dean when he was home on leave from the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, they were married on January 23, 1955. There were three sons born to this union. The family lived in Burney for 14 years. Her husband’s career in the timber industry then took them to Loomis, California for four years, then to Lakewood, Colorado for 12 years, and on to Kalispell, Montana for 10 years. After retirement they moved to Olathe, Colorado to be near their children and grandchildren.
While living in Loomis, California, Cloma attended Sierra Community College where she earned an AA Degree in Accounting. She was a homemaker and enjoyed several hobbies. Above all Cloma enjoyed her family. She treasured lifelong friendships from the several places she lived. She was active in scouting and children’s sports. The Deans were blessed with 57 years of marriage.
Survivors include her husband, Billy and three sons, Michael, William, and Bruce Dean and their wives; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Her sister Idelle Fannie Linn of Morrilton, Arkansas, brother, Marion Lynn Camp of Sheridan, Arkansas also survive her. Her mother and father, brother Raybon E. Camp, sisters Vida Camp-Mashburn, Martha L. Camp-Wisely, and an infant sister, Willie Louise Camp preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 10:30 am at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. The service will conclude at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the San Juan Cancer Center at Montrose Memorial Hospital, in memory of Cloma Dean, 600 South 5th Street, Montrose, Co. 81401-5711 or to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O.
