Elmer Henry Colombo

Lifelong Paradox resident Elmer Henry Colombo, passed away early Tuesday morning June 5, 2012 at his residence at the age of 92. Elmer was born March 3, 1920 to John B. & Susan (Couraud) Colombo in Paradox, Co. Elmer spent his childhood in the Paradox and Telluride areas, attending school in Paradox. Elmer married Dorothy Elaine Waggoner on February 12, 1947 in Montrose. Elmer and Dorothy had celebrated 64 years of marriage before Dorothy's passing this last December.
Elmer was in the Logging Business for most of his working career. He was part owner of The Paradox Lumber Company, along with his brother Robert Proctor for many years. The owned several mills though out the Paradox area.
Elmer enjoyed spending his time fishing and hunting, he also had a special place in his heart for his family.
Surviving family members include his children Raymond (Mary) Hopper of Price, Utah, Margie Petty of Paradox, Roy (Cindy) Colombo of Gateway, Co.; as well as 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Dorothy, and 3 brothers. A Funeral Service in loving memory of Elmer is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Paradox Community Church, in which Elmer helped to build. Burial will follow at the Paradox Cemetery.
