MONTROSE — Laverne E. Chadwick, age 80, of Montrose, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, Feb. 19, 2011, at Horizon’s Care Center in Eckert, Colo., surrounded by family members. After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Laverne went with her Heavenly Father quietly and peacefully.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jay Chadwick; daughter, Vickie (Jim) Decker; sons, Shane of Washington, Stephen in California; granddaughter, Kelly in Texas. Also seven great-grandchildren, two of whom are Jessica and Clarissa, and were by her side when Laverne left for a far better place. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by all who were a part of her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, in memory of Laverne Chadwick, 2232 N. 7th Street, Suite B1, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at noon Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home, 802 E.
